Since 1995 Reference Service provides library support for companies that are involved in biological, medical and chemical research.  We search for articles, patents, book chapters and do custom searches by subject words, title, author, science citation, etc.

Reference Service assures that all documents delivered to our customers comply with US and international copyrught laws.

Usually we obtain documents as our customer's agent based upon our customers representation that
1) documents are not intended to be used for commercial purposes or distribution;
2) documents are to be used for teaching, scholarship and research, and such use constitutes "fair use" within the meaning of Section 107 of Title 17 of the US code.

Upon your request Reference Service may ensure copyright compliance on the copy of the document that we deliver. The additional incurred cost may be $10.00 to $100.00 per document. It depends on every publisher's royalties. No additional reproduction is authorized. Should you wish to make additional copies of a document or use it for anything other than research purposes please contact Copyright Crearance Center www.copyright.com.

We encourage our customers to order via our website form because website orders are secured by a backup system; and thus are less prone to email failures and delays.

We find, copy and send the requested documents back to you promptly. We proceed all requests ASAP, but if You specify RUSH we attempt to fill and return the request within 24 hours. Requests marked EXPRESS and posted by 9 am will be completed by 2 pm, posted by 1 pm will be completed by 6 pm.

We offer delivery by FedEx, Priority Mail, 1st class mail, fax and email. Documents delivered via email are PDF attachments. They can be viewed with Acrobat reader that is available for free on the Internet. We mail hard copies of faxed documents. We do not provide hard copies of documents delivered via email.

Several convenient payment options are available: American Express, MasterCard, VISA and check.

Due to security restrictions, we temporarily cannot accept credit card information over the internet.  If you choose to pay by credit card, please click here to go to a dedicated credit card/fax order form.  You can print out this form and fill it out manually, or you can fill it out within your browser and print out the completed form.  Once done, fax this form to us.

An invoice will accompany each set of fulfilled requests. You should initial and send it to Your Accounts Payable. Terms are 30 days. No contract needs to be signed.

We will keep you informed about status in processing the requests. We search for the requested materials until we find them, or you tell us to stop the search.
